One year since deadly floods hit Johnson Co.
FLATGAP, Ky. (WTVQ) – It was one year ago today (July 13, 2017,) that Johnson County suffered a devastating flash flood that took the lives of four people.
The Flatgap community was hit when Mudlick Creek jumped its banks. Dozens of homes and businesses were destroyed as about 10 inches of rain fell in about 48 hours, on top of rainfall that had been heavy in the days before.
Charity concerts and fundraisers were organized to help the community get back on its feet.
