One person killed in Floyd County accident

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An accident in Floyd County has left one man dead.

Kentucky State Police say it happened on Kentucky Route 122 just past the South Floyd School around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, 79-year-old Clark Thornsberry, of Melvin, failed to negotiate a curve, hit a guardrail, went off the road and struck an embankment.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no one else in the car with Thornsberry, according to police.
