One person dead after three car crash in Pike County

BELCHER, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – An early morning, three car collision in Pike County led to one fatality and two people being hospitalized.

Kentucky State Police say that they were notified of a collision at approximately 7:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12.

The crash occurred on Ferrells Creek Road in the Belcher area of Pike County.

After arriving on the scene, troopers say that they discovered Jeremy Gunter was driving a 2002 Ford F150 and crossed the center line which caused him to crash into a 2007 Ford 500 being driven by Donald Thacker.

Following the crash into Thacker’s car, Gunter then collided with a 2021 Toyota Rav4 that was being driven by Ella Taylor.

According to KSP, Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office. Gunter and Thacker were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

This is an ongoing investigation by KSP Detective Jason Merlo.
