One Lexington reports continued decline in gun violence among youth

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — One Lexington reports the city has seen a decline in gun violence among children and young adults for the fourth straight year.

According to the organization, Lexington has reduced community violence by 60 percent since 2021. Officials say the city recorded the fewest total homicides in a decade and the fewest gunshot victims since 2010.

The report shows there were 10 fewer gun-related homicides and more than 50 fewer shootings compared to the four-year average.

Officials say the group plans to release its full 2025 annual report within the next few weeks.
