One last touchdown for Logan Tipton

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ)- In Versailles, a somber goodbye to a six-year-old boy killed in his home Monday.

Logan Tipton’s funeral was held at Community Stadium Field, Friday afternoon. It was a fitting scene in Versailles. Family, friends, teammates and coaches, cheering #63 to one last touchdown.

“He could go all the way!” That was the announcement from the pastor as he led funeral-goers in applause for Logan.

While he put one last “6” on the scoreboard, funeral organizers put a “3” up beside it. Everywhere you looked, Logan’s presence was on the field, not only seen, but felt as hundreds poured into the stadium with heavy hearts.

His coaches, teammates and family never imagined his very first football season would be his last.

“He learned the game very quickly. When his dad signed him up, he didn’t want to play. And then when he put his helmet and his equipment on, you couldn’t get it off of him,” said Woodford Youth Football president, Peter Barnhardt.

Coaches say #63 won’t be worn again in Woodford Youth Football unless his younger brother, Aiden plays.
