One Killed In House Fire In Whitley County

Firefighters say a husband tried to rush back into a burning home in Whitley County Friday morning to get out his wife who was still inside.

Firefighters were called to the home around 2:00am Friday on Old Corbin Pike.

The Williamsburg Fire Chief says the home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

They found a man outside the home trying to get back in.

Firefighters say they went into the home to rescue the woman but discovered she was dead.

The Whitley County Coroner’s Office says the victim was 50-year-old Pam Buhl Chin.

Firefighters say her husband was treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire was a short in a electrical heater.
