One killed in crash involving tractor trailer in Russell County

Russell Springs, Ky. (WTVQ) – A two-vehicle crash in Russell County has left an Adair County man dead.

Kentucky State Police say it happened on US 127 near Russell Springs on Thursday afternoon.

Police say 31-year-old James Spires of Columbia was driving north on US 127, when he crossed the center line and into the path of a tractor trailer.

Spires was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
