One killed in accident in Whitley County

CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – An accident in Whitley County has left one driver dead and another injured.

It happened around 9 a.m. on the Corbin Bypass.

State Police say the accident involved a semi-truck, driven by 40-year-old Mitchell Shelton, and a utility truck, driven by 57-year-old Larry Lyle.

Police say Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene. They say he was not wearing a seat belt.

Lyle was airlifted to the hospital, according to police.
