One Dead, Suspect Charged After Nicholasville Shooting

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — One person is dead following a shooting early Saturday morning in Nicholasville, according to police.

Officers say the shooting happened on Edgewood Drive near Shun Pike just before 1 a.m. When police arrived, they found a victim unresponsive at the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Police say the suspect was also on scene when officers arrived. That individual was detained and charged with manslaughter.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
