One dead in Knott County crash
ROCKFORK, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was killed in a collision with a semi early Friday morning on Highway 80 in the Rockfork community of Knott County, according to State Police.
Investigators say 23-year old Zachery Patrick, of Emmalena, drove his Chevy S-10 pickup into the back of a semi while driving east on Kentucky 80 just before 6:00 a.m.
State Police say Patrick was not wearing a seat belt and had to be cut out of his truck. He died from his injuries at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.
The semi driver, 64-year old Kelly Smith, of Fisty, was not hurt. State Police say he was wearing his seat belt.
