One dead following pedestrian involved collision in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – One person is dead after a fatal pedestrian involved crash in Laurel County.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, members of the London-Laurel County Crash Reconstruction team are investigating a collision that occurred with a vehicle and pedestrian on Monday, June 17 around 10:55 p.m.

The fatal incident happened on KY 490 approximately five miles north of London.

The report says that a pedestrian was hit by a white Honda Accord after walking into the road.

Officials have identified the victim as 57-year-old George E. Lewis of East Bernstadt. Lewis was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

An investigation into the deadly traffic accident is being conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Mink and London City Police Lt. Ryan Jackson.
