One dead after UTV collides with sheriff’s deputy vehicle in Knox County
KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — One person is dead after a crash involving a sheriff’s deputy in Knox County.
According to Kentucky State Police, the collision happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on South East Business Drive in Corbin. Investigators say a deputy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was attempting a traffic stop on two men in a side-by-side UTV when the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the UTV, a 20-year-old man, was taken to Baptist Health Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 21-year-old passenger and the deputy were not hurt, according to state police.
The crash remains under investigation.
