Omaha power board expected to reveal name of CEO choice
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The name of the person selected to become the next president and chief executive officer of the Omaha Public Power District is expected to be disclosed later Wednesday morning.
The district said in a news release that the board of directors’ governance committee has prepared a resolution that will be voted upon Thursday, at the board’s regular monthly meeting.
Earlier this month the board named four finalists to replace retiring CEO Gary Gates. The utility was criticized earlier this year for conducting its initial CEO search mostly in secret and refusing to release the finalists’ names.
The four candidates are district vice presidents Tim Burke and Mohamad Doghman; Gregory Starheim, president and CEO of Kentucky utility Kenergy Corp.; and Stephen Mormann, former vice president of nuclear power operator CENG.
