Oldham County educator is Kentucky Teacher of the Year

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – An Oldham County English and creative writing teacher is Kentucky’s Teacher of the Year.

The state Education Department says Ashley Lamb-Sinclair of North Oldham High School was honored on Tuesday in Frankfort.

The agency and Ashland Inc. also announced that second-grade teacher Joshua DeWar of Engelhard Elementary in Jefferson County is Elementary School Teacher of the Year, and world language/Spanish teacher Karen Mallonee of College View Middle School in Daviess County is Middle School Teacher of the Year.

All three and 21 other teachers from across the state were also honored with 2016 Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Awards.

Lamb-Sinclair will represent the state in the 2016 National Teacher of the Year competition.
