Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh currently visiting UK; more players to visit this weekend
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky has been busy in the transfer portal since losing all 13 scholarship athletes, and essentially needing to build a new roster from top to bottom.
Currently visiting Kentucky is Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh. The 6’5 guard has two years of eligibility remaining. In his last season with the Sooners, Oweh averaged 11.4 points per game. He is a top-25 transfer portal prospect and a top-5 small forward.
Mark Pope also has four players visiting this weekend.
Andrej Stojakovic is looking at Kentucky from Stanford. Stojakovic is a 6’7 guard with three years of eligibility remaining. He has narrowed his decision down to three schools; Kentucky, UNC and Cal.
Joining him this weekend is Utah transfer Deivon Smith. Smith began his college career at Mississippi State, he then transferred to Georgia Tech before winding up at Utah. Last season Smith had a career season, averaging over 13 points and 7 assists per game. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Third on the list this weekend is Aidan Mahaney from Saint Mary’s. Mahaney was a WCC first teamer; averaging 13.9 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game. The rising junior has two eligible seasons remaining.
And finally to close out the monster weekend is four-star Wake Forest transfer Andrew Carr. Carr averaged 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds in his last season at Wake Forest. The 6’11 forward has one year of eligibility remaining.
There are reports that there could possibly be more players coming to visit this weekend. Either way, it will not be a slow weekend for Mark Pope.
