Ohio’s two-week sales tax holiday offers big savings for Kentuckians
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentuckians looking to save on back-to-school and household items might want to head north—the Buckeye State’s expanded Sales Tax Holiday is now underway.
Running now through August 14, Ohio’s holiday allows shoppers to buy most personal items tax-free—up to $500 per item—whether online or in-store.
Eligible items include school supplies, laptops, furniture, pet food, kitchenware, musical instruments, soft drinks, and more. There’s no limit on the number of purchases, but individual items must be $500 or less to qualify.
Excluded from the tax break: motor vehicles, alcohol, tobacco, and any single item over $500.
