Ohio prosecutor says man indicted in apartment stabbings
CINCINNATI (AP) — A southwest Ohio prosecutor says a 20-year-old man has been indicted on murder charges in a stabbing attack that killed one man and wounded four children in a suburban Cincinnati apartment.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters (DEE’-turs) says Akihiko (AH-KEE’-shee-oh) Clayton would face the death penalty if convicted of charges that include aggravated murder. Deters announced the grand jury action Wednesday.
Springdale police say Clayton was recently arrested in northern Kentucky on unrelated robbery-kidnapping charges. A Kenton-Campbell County public defender says a judge entered a not guilty plea for Clayton in that case. He had no comment on the Hamilton County charges.
Police responding to 911 calls early July 2 say they found a man who had been fatally stabbed, with four children seriously injured.
