Officials: Officer involved shooting in Woodford County

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Scott County deputy was involved in a shooting on a Pisgah Pike farm in Woodford County Thursday morning, according to state police.

Authorities say Scott County deputies responded to a vehicle accident near the Midway exit on I-64.

A Ford truck matching the description of a truck involved in the accident was located on Ironworks Road in Scott County, according to investigators.

Deputies say they attempted to pull the vehicle over and the man driving the truck didn’t stop..

Police say the pursuit went across three counties.

At the end of the pursuit deputies confronted the male subject inside the truck, according to police.

During the course of that confrontation, a Scott County Deputy discharged his firearm striking the man, according to detectives.

Officials say the man driving the truck was treated at the scene and was transported to UK hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

The deputy who has worked for Scott County Sheriff’s Department for five and a half was placed on administrative leave, according to officials.

The shooting is still under investigation.
