Officials ask for public’s help in search for missing 13-year-old girl
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Law enforcement in Rockcastle County is asking for the public’s help as the search continues for 13-year-old Wynter Wagoner, who has been missing for more than a week.
According to Kentucky State Police, Wynter was last seen on Tuesday, October 14, in the Orlando area of Rockcastle County. She is described as being 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 147 pounds, with long brown hair, blue eyes, both ears pierced, and a piercing on the right side of her nose.
KSP Trooper Scottie Pennington said investigators are still working to determine what happened but emphasized that community assistance is crucial.
“We don’t believe that something bad has happened to her,” Pennington said. “We don’t know if she’s just missing, but that’s why we’re here today. We’re looking for the public’s help. If you see something, say something.”
Officials say Wynter had been picked up early from school the day she disappeared because she wasn’t feeling well. She was resting at home, but when her parents went to check on her at dinner time, they discovered she was gone.
Anyone with information on Wynter Wagoner’s whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London at 606-256-2121, or their local law enforcement agency.
