Official indictment released for man accused of 2015 triple murder

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Attorney General Andy Beshear released the official indictment for the man accused in a 2015 Christian County triple murder.

The indictment says Christian Martin is facing eight counts, including three for murder.

Other charges include arson, burglary and tampering with evidence.

The indictment says Martin shot Calvin Phillips with a pistol on November 18, 2015.

It says that same day, he shot Phillip’s wife, Pamela, and their neighbor, Edward Danserau with a different gun. It says Martin put them in a car and set it on fire.

The indictment says the death penalty is an option.

“The impact that a case like this has on a community like ours, which is considered a rural community in Western Kentucky, is very profound,” said Deputy Sheriff Chris Miller with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

Martin will appear before a judge on May 22. He is currently at the Christian County Detention Center.
