Officer-involved shooting shuts down Alumni Drive in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Police are responding to an officer-involved shooting in Lexington, and a busy stretch of roadway has been closed as the investigation unfolds.
According to the Lexington Police Department, officers are on the scene along Alumni Drive near Yellowstone Parkway.
Alumni Drive is currently shut down between New Circle Road and Man O’ War Boulevard as officers work the scene and direct traffic.
Police are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes. No additional details about injuries or what led up to the shooting have been released yet.
