UPDATE: Man suffered life-threatening injuries in Trigg shooting

CADIZ, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police detectives are still investigating an officer-involved shooting in Cadiz that occurred Monday night.

Preliminary investigation shows on Monday, February 8, 2021 around 7:40 p.m., Trigg County Dispatch received a call of a possible intoxicated driver on Bush Road. Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies responded and located a man, at which point the subject brandished and discharged a firearm.

Deputies responded by discharging their service weapons, striking and wounding the subject.

The subject was transported by Trigg County EMS to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. No other individuals were injured during the altercation.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and is being conducted by Kentucky State Police, Post 1 and the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team. More information will be released as the investigation continues.

CADIZ, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police were on the scene late Monday night of an officer-involved shooting involving the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say it happened on Bush Road in Cadiz.

No other information was immediately available.
