Officer Injured In Madison County Chase
A driver led police on a high speed chase starting on the interstate and ending in Richmond Sunday morning.
Kentucky state troopers said the chase started when an officer tried to stop a speeding car on I-75. Troopers said that driver then led them on a chase to Magnolia Drive in Richmond where the car hit a curb and the driver and a passenger fled on foot.
One officer was injured crossing a barbed wire fence in pursuit of the two. Troopers told us that officer will be okay and the two suspects were arrested.
The driver, Johnny W. Owens of Richmond faces nine charges. His passenger, Natasha M. Johnson of Lexington was charged as well.
They’re at the Madison County Detention Center.
