Off-duty deputy charged with DUI and assault
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — An off-duty deputy has been charged in connection with an alleged DUI crash in Madison County that sent a person to the hospital.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Deputy Jonathon Thompson was arrested on Saturday. Investigators report that Thompson was allegedly driving drunk when he turned into the path of a motorcycle on Charlie Norris Road near Four Mile Road.
The motorcyclist was taken to UK Hospital and is expected to recover. Thompson is now facing charges of DUI and assault.
The incident remains under investigation.
