NWS confirms tornado in Clinton County
ALBANY, Ky. (AP) — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in south-central Kentucky.
Media cited the weather service in reporting that an EF-1 tornado hit in Clinton County just south of the Russell Count line on Monday night when storms swept through the state.
Weather officials said the tornado had wind gusts of up to 100 mph, and it left a path that was about a half-mile long and 300 yards wide.
The storm knocked down trees and power lines, but no injuries were reported.
