‘Nourish’ gets new distribution location
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Nourish Lexington, the agency established to provide meals and work shifts to hospitality workers hit financially by the coronavirus shutdown, has a new location for meal distribution.
The agency announced Copper Roux on Broadway as a new distribution site for meal.
The Copper Roux replaces The Red Mile, which is reopening its business to the public. Meals also will continue to be distributed at FoodChain.
“Thank you to Bayou Bluegrass Catering/Copper Roux for offering space as a new dinner distribution site,” said FoodChain Executive Director Becca Self. “It is an expansion of the company’s efforts over the last several weeks helping with meal preparation. We also appreciate The Red Mile for being such a great partner throughout this project.”
Last week, Nourish Lexington distributed 7,500 meals – including 2,400 school lunches. Partners included FoodChain, UK Dining/Aramark/Athenian, Bayou Bluegrass Catering, Minton’s, Dupree Catering, Great Bagel, Fasig-Tipton/Chef Ouita Michel and Keeneland.
Food distribution this week will be held at 5:30 p.m. each week day at FoodChain, 501 W. Sixth St., and Copper Roux, 861 S. Broadway, which shares a parking lot with DV8 and Cook Out.
Meal preparation partners are Athenian/UK Dining, Bayou Bluegrass Catering and Minton’s.
