Norton files counterclaim against Kosair Charities
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Norton Healthcare has filed a counterclaim against Kosair Charities in an ongoing legal battle over contributions to a children’s hospital.
The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/13SwORu) reports the countersuit filed Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court accuses Kosair of claiming that it is a major funder of Norton’s Kosair Children’s Hospital when it stopped making contractual payments two years ago. The claim says Kosair is $11.5 million behind on required contributions.
Kosair Charities filed suit against Norton Healthcare in May accusing it of misspending donations and refusing to provide an account of how contributions to Kosair Children’s Hospital are spent.
Both sides have denied allegations made by the other.
The Kentucky attorney general’s office has intervened in the suit on behalf of Kosair Charities.
