Northern Kentucky plant expanding, adding 15 jobs
GHENT, Ky. (AP) — North America Stainless plans to expand its facility in northern Kentucky, adding 15 new jobs.
Gov. Steve Beshear announced the plans in a new release and said the company will invest $5 million to add a fourth steel slitter line at its Ghent facility in Carroll County.
The release said slitting is the process of cutting large rolls of steel into narrower rolls for stainless steel used in industries such as appliance, automotive, plumbing, general manufacturing and food service.
Construction starts in January, with expected completion in early 2016.
The company is a subsidiary of Acerinox S.A., headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
