Central Kentucky YMCA awarded more than $26K to help bridge digital divide

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – YMCA of Central Kentucky has received a significant donation from AT&T aimed at increasing internet access for under-served communities. The telecommunications giant awarded YMCA a check for over $26,000.

YMCA officials announced that the funds will support their ‘Connection Networks Program,’ which helps individuals learn about different digital devices and how to use the internet. This program is available to YMCA members, program participants, and others in the community who want to enhance their digital literacy.

The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and provide crucial skills and resources to those who need them most, ensuring broader internet accessibility and understanding.
