Nominations due next month for Governor’s Service Awards
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service is taking nominations for the 2015 Governor’s Service Awards.
The awards have been around for a couple of decades and recognize contributions of Kentuckians to fellow citizens.
The award nomination deadline is Feb. 18, and the commission holds an annual ceremony to publicly recognize winners and others who volunteer and serve their communities.
The commission is an agency of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The cabinet said in a news release that nominations for most awards must focus on service activities completed in Kentucky during 2014.
