Nolan McCarthy leaves Kentucky baseball, enters portal
Joins growing number of transfers from UK after historic season
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)- A mainstay in the Kentucky baseball lineup is moving on from Lexington. Center fielder Nolan McCarthy is in the transfer portal as of July 2 per multiple reports.
This past season in Blue and White, McCarthy batted .288, tallied 12 doubles, had eight home runs and 41 RBI.
McCarthy and 11 other players are in the transfer portal from Kentucky. The exodus has been steady since the Bat Cats were eliminated in the Men’s College World Series by Florida.
The Kalamazoo, Michigan product adds to the list of numerous former starters who have left the team.
In addition to the players transferring, 12 others have exhausted their eligibility and are not expected to return to the team.
