No. 6 Kentucky women’s basketball tops No. 5 Oklahoma 63-57

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The No. 6 Kentucky women’s basketball team picked up another marquee victory Sunday night, defeating No. 5 Oklahoma 63-57 at Memorial Coliseum.

The win marked Kentucky’s second victory over a top-five opponent this season, following its win against LSU on Jan. 1. The Wildcats earned the result despite being shorthanded again, playing without Teonni Key, who has been sidelined since leaving last week’s game against Missouri.

Tonie Morgan led Kentucky with 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. The senior guard also reached a milestone in the win, scoring the 1,500th point of her career.

Clara Strack bounced back after a tough shooting performance against Alabama, recording a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

With the win, Kentucky improves to 16-2 overall and 3-1 in SEC play.
