No. 23 Kentucky stays perfect with win over USC Upstate; Tonie Morgan ties single game assist record
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) — The Kentucky women’s basketball team remained undefeated with a 90–30 win over USC Upstate on Wednesday night.
In the victory, Tonie Morgan reached 500 career assists. The Wildcat offense was humming all game long, as all five Kentucky starters scored in double figures, along with Asia Boone, who came off the bench.
Clara Strack led the Wildcats in rebounding with 16 boards, while Morgan dished out 16 assists — tying the single-game record held by Patty Jo Hedges, who set her mark against Cincinnati on January 15, 1982.
Kentucky will travel to Marshall for its next game on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
