No. 2 Kentucky volleyball takes down No. 19 Tennessee, stays unbeaten in SEC
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The No. 2 Kentucky volleyball team defeated No. 19 Tennessee 3-1 on Sunday evening to remain undefeated in the SEC (13-0).
6,236 fans sold out Historical Memorial Coliseum for a “BLUE OUT.” It was the third-largest crowd in program history and the largest crowd since 1983.
Tennessee won the first set 25-22, before Kentucky went on to win the next three sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-18).
The cats hit .252 on the night and had 14 blocks to the volunteers seven.
Eva Hudson led the cats with 19 kills, followed by Brooklyn DeLeye’s 18. Kassie O’Brien had 12 digs and 40 assists in the match as well.
Kentucky has two more SEC home tests left. First up, the cats host Oklahoma on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., followed by Arkansas on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m.
