Nine hospitalized after collision in Bracken Co.

BRACKEN CO., Ky. (WTVQ) – A highway was closed for hours after a crash involving a semi-truck and a car.

The semi caught fire in the accident, shutting down the AA highway in bracken county.

State Police say a minivan struck a sedan from behind while it was waiting to make a left turn at about 12:30 Sunday afternoon.  That collision pushed the sedan into the other lane, where it was struck by the semi.

Nine people were hospitalized, according to the Bracken Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses say children were among those hurt.
