Nick Baisch Resigns as Lexington Catholic Head Football Coach

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Lexington Catholic is searching for a new head football coach after Nick Baisch resigned from his post on Tuesday.

Baisch is taking on a new role as Director of Student Career Development at St. Xavier High School in Louisville, the school he left to come to Lexington two years ago.

He is also a 2009 graduate of Saint Xavier and is a Louisville native.

“It has been a privilege to serve as the Head Football Coach at Lexington Catholic,” said Baisch. “This program and community have meant so much to me and I am incredibly grateful for the players, coaches, parents and supporters who have made this journey so memorable.”

Baisch led Lexington Catholic to the state semi-finals in the past two years and lost to Christian Academy of Louisville in the Class 3A football playoffs both times.

He posted a 16-12 record and went 12-2 in Class 3A during his tenure.
