Nicholasville Police post warning about credit card skimmers

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Over the weekend the Nicholasville Police Department posted a warning about credit card skimming on its Facebook page.

The Department writes it has gotten reports of credit cards being skimmed.

Officers say they do not know of any specific locations where this has been happening.

Credit card skimmers are devices criminals attach to ATMs and gas pump payment systems. The devices register customers’ credit and debit card information as they swipe their cards to pay.

Nicholasville Police say you should watch your account closely after using a card to ensure criminals have not stolen your information and used it to make purchases.
