Update: Suspect arrested in connection with Nicholasville shooting

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky (WTVQ)-
UPDATE: 11-26-23, 12 P.M.
The Nicholasville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a Friday night shooting.
Police arrested and charged Austin Barnett.
Police say they were called to 400 North Central Avenue in Nicholasville around 10:30 p.m. Friday night in reference to a shooting.
Police say the shooting happened after domestic dispute involving Barnett and a former girlfriend.
According to police, Barnett fired rounds from a handgun, shot through a door, and shot the woman twice in the back. The woman did survive the shooting.
Barnett has been charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence.

Nicholasville police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left a woman injured.
Police say around 10:30 Friday, an officer was driving near the intersection of North Central and Richmond Avenue, when a motorist flagged him down, saying there had been a shooting.
When police arrived, they found a woman who’d been shot. She was taken to the hospital. Police say her injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
Police say they’re still investigating and could not speculate on what caused the shooting, or if anyone would be arrested in connection with the shooting.
