Nicholasville barricade situation ends peacefully; suspect in custody

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A barricade situation that unfolded Thursday morning on Maple Leaf Lane has ended peacefully, according to Nicholasville Police.

Officers say both the suspect and the other person involved in a reported domestic dispute left the home without incident around 11:15 a.m.

Police arrested 56-year-old Terry Travis, who is now facing multiple charges. According to investigators, officers received a 911 text around 9:30 a.m. about a domestic dispute at the home. When they arrived, they say Travis tried to drive away but rammed a police cruiser, disabling his own vehicle.

Police say he then ran back inside and barricaded himself. Officers attempted to make contact, but say Travis did not respond until he eventually exited the home more than an hour later.

Investigators say Travis is charged with fleeing and hitting a police cruiser, and that he also had outstanding warrants. The other person involved was not injured.
