A search is underway at Lake Carnico in Nicholas County for a missing 45-year-old man.

Officials aren’t releasing many details other than that the man lived near the lake and that he was reported missing by his family.  He has not been in contact with them since Friday or Saturday.

Tuesday was the second day of the search, with investigators working from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.  Tuesday, searchers began searching with sonar around 9:00 a.m., and began a ground search near the lake around 10:00 a.m.

The search was eventually called off for the day around 3:30 p.m. despite not finding anything.   Crews say the wind made conditions on the lake too rough.  They plan to send boats out again on Wednesday.

ABC 36 is told the sheriff’s office is investigating.
