Kentucky Healthcare Training

If you are interested in a career in health care, you need to join Kentucky Healthcare Training. Dr. Don M. Gash joined us today to tell us about his student training, which teaches students how to take care of patients properly. The training involves both classroom, skills, and clinical to provide the students a hands-on experience. This training will help prepare students for various jobs such as, nurses, physicians assistants, and physical therapists. 

Live at Mister Cuts

Today on Midday Kentucky, our own Troy Thompson visited Mister Cuts barber shop to talk about men's health. Stylist J.P. gives us some insight on what the typical barber shop conversation is like. Some of the usual conversations can range from women, to health issues. Being a barber at Mister Cuts, your job is not to just cut hair, but to establish a relationship with your clients.

Clark Regional Medical Center

Dr. John Tuttle from Clark Regional Medical Center joined us today to discuss prostate and testicular cancer. Dr. Tuttle shared with us that men are at the highest risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer if they have a family history of being diagnosed or if they are of the African American race. When it comes to testicular cancer, it is suggested that men should self-examine at least once a month for abnormalities, since it is the most common cancer found in men between the ages of 15 and 40. If there are any abnormalities visit your family doctor.

The AmeriCorps VISTA Program partners for education works with Kentucky non-profit organizations to help improve educational opportunities and help with poverty issues. Today Ceesay told us all about what Berea College does to help different types of people, and even shared some of their success stories.

Alliance Medical & Home Care

Alliance Medical & Home Care joined us on set today for their upcoming blood drive. Their blood drive will be hosted through the Kentucky Blood Center on Friday November 10th. If you are interested in donating blood make sure you bring a photo ID the day of the drive.

MK Interns - Hail or Fail

 We started a new segment with our MK interns. Our interns will be testing out different products after which, they will give us their feedback on if it is a Hail or Fail.

Ever heard of Luna Yoga? We welcomed Esti Dorfling, yoga instructor from Granola Culture, to walk Lyssa High through some of the fundamentals. David Goldman joined in for some emotional support!
