New visitor experience now open at Bulleit Distilling
UPDATE: (6/26/2019) Bulleit Distilling Co. has opened its visitors’ center at its Shelbyville distillery in Kentucky.
The production facility in north-central Kentucky is joining the growing bourbon tourism business in the state that produces about 95% of the world’s bourbon.
Bulleit officials say the distillery’s Visitor Experience opened to the public on Tuesday.
The distillery, just outside Shelbyville, is slightly more than 30 miles from downtown Louisville and Lexington – the state’s two largest cities.
The Visitor Experience includes guided tours, a cocktail bar and an opportunity for visitors 21 years or older to design a customized Bulleit label to apply to their own bottles.
Parent company Diageo says it has invested about $150 million in the distillery and visitors’ center, generating more than 75 jobs in the past five years.
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Bulleit Distilling Co. has opened the newest visitor experience on The Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.
Since its inception in 1987 as one of the highest rye whiskeys on the market, Bulleit has been known as the bourbon that broke the mold. This week, Bulleit continues that tradition of innovation by opening its new Visitor Experience for bartenders, partners and guests from the local community and beyond at the Bulleit Distilling Co. in Shelbyville, KY.
The experience will officially become the 17th stop on The Kentucky Bourbon Trail® when it opens to the public on Tuesday, June 25th.
The Bulleit Distilling Co. Visitor Experience is conveniently located and part of an exciting and growing Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. The creation of a world-class distillery and Visitor Experience has generated more than 75 jobs over the last five years and represents an investment by Diageo of approximately $150 million in Kentucky over that time.
