New Study: 750,000 Kentuckians Struggle With Hunger

The latest numbers on Kentucky’s hunger problem aren’t good.

A new study from the non-profit ‘Feeding America’ says 750,000 people throughout the state don’t know where their next meal will come from.

It also shows that the average cost of a meal in Kentucky is $2.41.

That’s below the national average of $2.67.

So what would it take to make sure families are well fed?

The report includes the annual food budget shortfall in Kentucky, meaning the amount of additional money that food-insecure individuals in the state say they would need to put enough food on the table for an adequate diet.

The study says in Kentucky, the total number is $122,187,456.
