New safety measures for victims of domestic violence

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Office is working with the Circuit Clerk to keep domestic violence victims safe.

They rolled out two new programs Wednesday.  Emergency Protective Orders (EPO) will now be issued more quickly, using a new electronic process. Instead of taking hours to file an EPO, it should now only take minutes.

A new Domestic Violence Order (DVO) card is also now available.  Called the "DVO Hope Card," the laminated, wallet-sized card comes with a person’s case number, name, and the name and photo of the person ordered to stay away.
