New parents celebrate birth of quintuplets

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-

It is the ultimate mother’s day gift for Briana Driskell of Versailles.
On May 2nd she gave birth to five babies at the UK Birthing Center and today she spoke with the media to celebrate her journey.
It was all smiles at today’s news conference as new parents Briana and Jordan Driskell celebrated the successful birth of their quintuplets.

“It’s a miracle. I honestly have no idea how all of that fit inside of me. I look at them laying there everyday and I’m just in awe,” said Briana Driskell.

Zoey, Asher, Dakota, Gavin and Hollyn , three girls and two boys, came into this world on May 2nd and their parents say they can already tell they’re going to be a handful.

“We have a couple feisty ones. And we got a couple laid back ones. We do. It’s nice to have a mix,” said Brianna and Jordan Driskell.

Doctors estimate only 30 to 50 quintuplets are born in the US every year and the Driskells admit it is a little overwhelming.

“Like this was my first pregnancy ever you know and to come out with five kids that’s a big deal. Especially with no experience. I have neices and nephews but five kids of my own. Wow,” said Briana Driskell.

But luckily the new parents say they have a huge support system around them.

“I can’t even explain how thankful and blessed that we are to have so many people willing to help us out. People that we have never met, I’ve never heard of you know and they’re going out of their way to make sure that we have everything that we could possibly need to take care of these five babies,” said Briana Driskell.

Now the parents say they’re just excited to bring their beautiful babies home.

“We have two nurseries that are all set up for both of them. Oh yeah we’re ready. Each one’s got their own bed and they’re ready to roll,” said Jordan and Briana Driskell.
The Driskell’s say they have been approached to appear on a reality TV show but say that’s not their cup of tea.
