New mattresses donated to the Lexington Fire Department
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Tempur Sealy donated more than 200 new Tempurpedic mattresses Wednesday to the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters.
“Those will go out to replace 167 of the beds that we have here in Lexington. We have 24 stations and that will cover all of them,” Houston said.
Firefighter and President of the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters Todd Houston said whenever they host a fundraiser Tempur Sealy is one of the first organizations to come forward and offer its help.
“We don’t sleep a lot at night. We make about 40,000 EMS runs and 12,000 Fire runs a year so we don’t get to sleep a lot but when we do it’s nice to lay down on a very comfortable mattress so this will help with that and then the nights you do get to sleep at night it will make it that much nicer,” Houston said.
The company also donated mattresses to the fire station at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington and the Simpsonville Fire Department.
