New leader appointed at Richmond state police post

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky State Police post at Richmond is under new command.

Capt. Jeremy Slinker was appointed commander of the post on Dec. 16.

Slinker began his career as a trooper assigned to the Richmond post. He served as a trooper and sergeant on the special response team and a lieutenant at the special operations branch in Lexington.

He most recently was commander of the cannabis suppression branch.
