New kids on the block: Mychal Mulder
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Mychal Mulder is a long way away from the JUCO life at Vincennes.
Mulder never really got recruited to play big-time division one basketball out of high school.
He was labeled as a dunker back then. He still has insane hops.
But in Indiana, at small but competitive Vincennes, Mulder learned to shoot. That’s what has him in Lexington.
It was a mutual recruitment according to Mulder.
“Kentucky is another thing,” Mulder said. “When I got down here for the visit it was all about seeing what I wanted. They wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the situation…and I definitely was.”
Mulder’s confident he can be the shooter the Cats need and Solid Blue fans hope he is.
“I’m extremely confident. If they need a three-pointer, I’m not one to miss.”
Mulder isn’t nervous. He’s anxious. Anxious to show he’s a complete basketball player, not just a label.
As a new guy, he senses the hunger and urgency among the returning Cats to go finish what they started.
“BBN fans are the best fans in the country, maybe anywhere. I’ve never experienced such madness when it comes to basketball.”
Just wait Mychal, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
