New health center coming for the homeless

LEXINGTON, Ky.  (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Two prominent Lexington non-profits have announced the opening of a new health center dedicated to serving those experiencing homelessness. The Isaiah House and Lexington Rescue Mission have partnered to launch the facility, which they describe as groundbreaking for the city.

Today, ABC 36 got an inside look at the new center, showcasing its comprehensive range of services. The facility offers wrap-around support services, including medical and dental aid. Nick Wren, CEO of Isaiah House, emphasized the breadth of health services available.

“It’s going to be a full access outpatient clinic that’s going to provide both outpatient medical services and behavioral and mental health services, outpatient substance use disorder, and MAT services as well. We do have plans to expand those service offerings over the coming years,” said Wren.

The new health center aims to address the multifaceted needs of the homeless population in Lexington, providing a crucial resource for those who lack access to essential health services.
