New Head Coach Jason Woodman ready for first year with Morehead State Eagles

MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Morehead State held their 2024 football media days on Wednesday, where media heard from the program’s new football head coach Jason Woodman. Woodman comes to MSU from Fairmont State University, where he served as the head coach from 2013 to 2023.

He is not wasting any time turning the program around. “We’ve challenged them really tough this fall,” said Woodman. “We have been really hard on them. We have twenty something seniors who have played a lot of football here, and have been through some good and some bad. We didn’t walk in here to say ‘hey you guys have one more year left and then we’ll worry about what happens in the future,’ we came here to win.”

Woodman said he is motivated to win by the seniors who decided to stick with the program. “Those guys deserve that,” Woodman said. “The things that they have been through, the work they have had to do. The guys who stuck around in the winter when they could have very easily walked out of here. As a head coach, I’m giving everything we have. We’re going to win for them.”

Last season the eagles finished 4-7 overall under Rob Tenyer.

Woodman and the eagles gets their season rolling Thursday Aug. 29th at Jayne Stadium at 6:00 pm.
